HEADS UP for all residential backyard poultry keepers. Potential Sacramento County zoning change on crowing July 22.
The Sacramento Board of Supervisors has scheduled a vote to ban crowing fowl on all residential property in the county no matter how big the lot is on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. (the meeting time can change 72hrs before so check with them on Monday). Please call your county supervisor or attend the meeting and let your voice be heard!

Good morning everyone! I can't find the words to express how excited I am to let you all know that YRR has a new home! We are setting up the infrastructure and once that is in place we will release our new address. We're just about 20 minutes north of where we were, and we are on big acreage. We can't wait to invite all of you to come visit!

Yellow Rose Ranch CA is currently closed. We need a property to move to; the rental we had available to us did not work out as expected. The rental market is very tight and there is a great deal of competition to just get into a place. If any of you are aware of any available properties...we need a 4 bedroom and at least 2 acres. Fencing would be nice, as would be a barn. We can afford up to $2500/month and we are willing to enter into a long term lease agreement. Please contact Nancy at 916-993-3922 ASAP. All of our things are in storage and our livestock is being boarded elsewhere. We are trying to prevent having to euthanize the dogs and cats. We can go as far north as Wheatland, Grass Valley, etc. Please share this post far and wide. Thank you for your time :-)

Get ready, get set, SPRING! Can't wait to see everyone this morning!

We are getting an extra early start this morning for the best community event ever in Orangevale! Will you join us? It just won't be the same without YOU :-) Come on by from 9-12 with any livestock you can cage (or otherwise secure) to buy, sell, trade or donate anything you don't want to keep. Your donation is part of what keeps this event going for all of us. But don't feel obligated...we just want you here having a good time! The small animal exchange is one of the best ways ever to meet quality breeders in your local area.

Oh dear. I knew it was going to happen to one of us eventually. My poor son just went head to head with a skunk in the shed. The skunk won.

This has got to be one of the nicest photos I've ever had the pleasure of taking...especially as it appears these little ones may be the only survivors during a difficult duck season. They have been recovered from the pond against momma's wishes and are all safely together in a secure pen at this time. Not for sale.
