That’s a wrap on picking.

As of yesterday, every last cluster is in. Today the Cabernet Franc is being processed, and tomorrow the rest of the fruit follows. Beautiful, beautifully ripe, and full of promise. We can’t wait to see what this vintage becomes.

A great w**e country getaway doesn’t have to mean a flight across the country or across the Atlantic. Sometimes, it’s waiting just an hour outside the city.

In a new piece for the Washington Post, w**e writer Emily Saladino shares her tips for making the most of a w**e country getaway: from when to visit and where to spend to why it pays to look beyond the usual destinations.

We were thrilled to see Virginia w**e country and Crimson Lane featured throughout the story. Joshua Grainer of Lost Mountain Vineyards points to the Shenandoah Valley for “places with great restaurants, like Early Mountain, and places with wonderful views, like Crimson Lane.” And Emily shared a line that made our whole team smile:

Happy Virginia W**e Month from Crimson Lane! We closed out September by bringing in the first of our reds, and we're kicking off October with a vineyard update from our w**emaker, Dominick Fioresi.

Yesterday we harvested two of the lower blocks at Clay Ground Vineyard for the very first time. After a trying year, we're grateful to see this part of our hillside begin to express itself and give us a harvest. Still hanging on the vine: the majority of our Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah, Nebbiolo, and Petit Verdot.

With harvest underway and autumn beginning to settle into the Blue Ridge, there couldn’t be a better time to plan a drive to Virginia w**e country.

Washingtonian highlighted our estate-grown w**es, intimate tasting experiences, and the vineyard and mountain views that become especially beautiful this time of year. We’re grateful to be included alongside so many wonderful w**eries in our region, and even more grateful for every guest who makes the trip out to experience Crimson Lane.

Every vintage tells its own story. Here’s where things stand across our vineyards this harvest season.

Our highest-elevation vineyard rises from 1,200 to 1,550 feet.

First planted in 2016, Higher Power is home to nine varietals rooted in rocky greenstone soils; each responding a little differently to the elevation, exposure, and conditions of the 2026 vintage.

At this elevation, sun exposure and mountain breezes help shape the fruit long before it reaches the cellar. The choices that define our w**es begin here.

Our Albariño, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc are officially in from Higher Power Vineyards, marking the completion of our white w**e harvest in this section of property.

Most people see heavy clay and keep walking. We saw a playground.

Planted in 2020, this two-acre block began as an experiment: a hunch that Petit Manseng could do more than survive here. Turns out, it’s having a field day.

The experimenting doesn’t stop in the vineyard.
Petit Manseng from Clay Ground is now in the cellar, where we get to see what this unusual pairing of variety and heavy clay can become.

Yesterday, Chris and Leia represented our team at the Washington Area Concierge Association’s DMV Vendor Showcase, sharing our estate w**es with hospitality professionals from across the region.
