Yesterday, we were deeply honored to receive the 2025 Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and ForestryCommissioner's Distinguished Service Award! We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our valued customers for their unwavering support of our farm and their commitment to buying Maine grown products. This award is also a testament to my father's vision and pioneering spirit within Maine's grain economy. Marcus and I were overjoyed to see his legacy recognized, just look how happy he is in the photo!

We’re excited to announce that Aurora Mills and Farm has received the 2025 DACF Commissioner’s Distinguished Service Award. This honor recognizes their exceptional dedication to preserving Maine's agricultural heritage and growing an enduring future for the grain economy.

Located in Linneus, Aurora Mills and Farm, led by the Williams and Flewelling families, has built a remarkable multi-generational business specializing in organic grains, legumes, and cover crops. Their commitment to collaboration with local farmers and businesses has helped revitalize Maine's grain economy, ensuring high-quality products reach bakers, brewers, chefs, and families throughout the Northeast.

Congratulations to Matt and Linda Williams, Sara Williams Flewelling, Marcus Flewelling, and the Aurora Mills team for this well-deserved honor.

We had a wonderful time hosting the Southern Aroostook Soil and Water Conservation District, Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA), The Bangor Daily News and the Maine Grain Alliance for a field day this week!

As tastes have moved away from white flours and back to whole grains, it’s created opportunity for local growers.

Pretty neat, an oat whiskey made with our organic oats! Congratulations Liquid Riot on your Good Food award nomination, thanks for supporting local farms!!

🌾 Liquid Riot Old Port Oat Whiskey Feat. Blue Ox Malt 🌾

This oat whiskey was crafted at Liquid Riot with our Pale Malt and flaked oats from in Linneus. Oats aren't the most common ingredient in whiskey, but they help to create a beautiful final product— a smooth sipping whiskey with a creamy mouthfeel and slightly sweet profile.

Old Port Oat Whiskey was a 2023 Good Food Foundation Good Food Awards finalist!

Liquid Roots Head Distiller Ian Michaud says, "I find it incredibly satisfying to support Maine's rich agricultural history by using locally grown grains in all our whiskey products. Not only does this practice help Maine's farmers, but I feel that it also imparts a regional flavor or terroir to our products.”
