We have around 150 laying hens, and about 200 layer chicks in our brooder! Right now we get around 9 dozen eggs a day, sometimes more, sometimes less. We hand wash and pack all our eggs in our home kitchen every morning. The eggs that get put out daily in our farm store were laid the day before! We are proud of the quality of life our hens have, and how beautiful their eggs are! Wonderfully hard shells and a deep orange yolk that is absolutely delicious!

This is farming! It’s not all glam and glitz being surrounded adorable animals in picturesque settings. In fact, it is often the opposite. It’s a lot of hard work day in and day out. For example, here we observe farmer Sam mucking out a stall at 7pm before dinner. Farming is a life style, that takes a certain kind of person. We wouldn’t have it any other way!

Well that’s a wrap folks! Our first year attending farmers markets has come to an end! I want to thank both Littleton Farmers' Market and Campton Farmers Market for being so welcoming to us and having us at their beautiful markets!
And a huge thank you to all of the smiling faces and wonderful people we got to meet! I cannot express what a joy it is meeting and getting to know those who enjoy all our hard work. It has been our dream for a long time to bring the very best food to our community. To actually see and talk to those who support what we do makes all the hard days worth it! Thank you again to anyone who has ever bought anything from us, or even just stopped at our booth to say hello! We love and appreciate everyone of you!

And a huge shout out to Emily Amelia Johansson for being a rock star and helping so much with the markets, and with our endless tasks here at the farm. We couldn’t have done it without you! 🤎

Howdy friends! Once spooky season is over, what do you do with your decorative pumpkins, gourds, and squash? Please consider giving them to the animals at Breezy Hill Farm! Our goats, pigs and chickens all LOVE pumpkins and the like! After Halloween, we will put a pumpkin drop off bin at the farm store for anyone who wants to donate their pumpkins to a hungry farm animal! Thank you!! 🎃

Ps we also accept unwanted apples and fruits for those over abundant trees!

Putting out the feelers here. We are heading into our slow season and trying to plan for next year. We are so thankful for everyone who has shopped and continues to shop with us. We think we have something special here and we want to keep the foot on the gas. The reality is, it’s going to take a pretty big leap of faith to make this business work. We want to do everything to continue to produce and share the best food with our family, friends and community. We have some big ideas but we currently struggling to stay ahead enough to invest in projects and efficiencies to help us grow. The point of this post is to see if there would be any community interest in fundraising events. We are thinking open barn events to come meet and pet the animals, educational opportunities, raffles, etc. without the farmers markets in the winter we kind of need to lean into some creative ideas.
Any creative minds out there have ideas? Do these ideas seem like something people would be interested in?

We had the most amazing summer. Working harder than we ever have and meeting amazing people in our community. Let’s keep it up. Thanks so much 🙌

As I’m sure you’ve noticed we are very short on meat at this point! Unfortunately our next butcher date is not until the end of December. Hang with us until then, we will have plenty of other goods out and some exciting news coming. We are offering a few more reservations for whole or half pigs for the December butcher date. if you want to stock your freezer with fresh pasture raised pork cut to your liking let us know asap before it’s all spoken for. Enjoy the long weekend !!
