Announcing a new, unique way to connect with Blue Heron Farms: beautifully, naturally mimosa bark tanned sheepskins. 🎉🎉🎉

We’ve spent decades rigorously selecting genetics that produce a hardy, multi-purpose sheep. And that includes a fleece that is consistent, soft and plush.

We’ve enjoyed using hides from our sheep as rugs, sleeping mat pads and decor for years — they’re second to none in our opinion — and after a lot of research, trial and error and logistical troubleshooting, we’re so excited to begin offering them to you.

The bonus? Saving these beautiful hides reduces even more what goes into the waste stream, and helps us continue to focus on using everything.

We have 50+ April/May 2025 ewe lambs available. They are currently open, but can be exposed. Sired by productive Ile de France, Rideau Arcott and polled Dorset rams. Dams are from our own maternal composite lines.

We have been a closed ewe flock since the 1990s. OPP free. Parasite resistant, according to 2024 NAHMS testing.

Mr. Red Collar, Badar, is first to go. He’s on the way to his new home with Chippewa Valley Kangals. ✈️

I’ll miss his can-do attitude, his sweet and polite requests for chin and belly rubs, and his enjoyment of life, but I can’t wait to see what things are in store for him. 🥰
