Idk who needs to hear this, but it’s okay to let your chickens find their own food. Chickens don’t need to spend every minute standing at the feeder.

Scratching around looking for bugs is exactly what they’re supposed to be doing.

No they don’t starve. No they’re not unhappy. They’re living their best lives.

And this is what gives us the best eggs in return. 💙

We’ve been growing. 💙

If you’ve been wondering where we’ve been, we’re still here! Just with our heads down, raising babies, tending animals, and building Blue Balsam Homestead into something sustainable for the long haul.

Along the way, our plans changed.

We originally dreamed of opening a self-serve farm store, but after a lot of thought, we’ve decided it isn’t the right fit for our family or our farm right now. Instead, we’re simplifying things and focusing on what matters most: producing high-quality stuff and making it available through pre-order and scheduled pickup.

This allows us to spend more time caring for our animals, growing our farm, and being present with our family.

We are still offering eggs, pastured chicken and turkey, take-and-bake items, and you can even order Blue Balsam Apothecary products for pick up.

Thank you for sticking with us while we’ve been growing in more ways than one. Your support allows our little homestead to keep doing what we love. 💙

Hello everyone! Just a quick update to let you know that we will be self-serve for Christmas trees, wreaths, and centerpieces through Christmas Eve (12/24). We still have a great selection available!

After that, we’ll be closing up to finish the final stages of farm store renovations, so we can be ready to reopen for spring 🌱

We still have eggs and whole frozen chickens available—if you need any, just send us a message and we’ll get you taken care of.

We’ll be sure to keep everyone updated on our construction progress and will let you know a date for reopening. Thank you so much for supporting our little farm—we truly appreciate you and look forward to seeing you in the spring!
