Old man winter is going to have to try much harder to freeze out these girls. With it -8 outside with a -20 or colder wind chill it's staying a comfortable 35 degrees inside the barn. For all my fellow farmer who aren't as fortunate I'm rooting for you to press on. Just a few more days and it will feel like spring outside.

Tonight an era has come to an end. For 32 years we have milked cows in this very nice newer tie stall barn. But tonight I hung the milkers to be washed for the last time loaded up the 34 cows extra we had that we couldn't fit in the robot barn and sent them to be auctioned tomorrow at Hoskins sales in new Berlin, ny. If anyone is interested in some very nice 1st and 2nd calf animals be sure to check it out. Almost half were making over 80 pounds with one 2nd lac. Cow making 110 pounds.
