Oakview Plantation was established in 1823. The plantation home is the oldest plantation home in Choctaw County and the oldest Heritage Farm plantation home in the state of Alabama. The 1,200 acres is planted in Southern Pine and it has a 2 acre pond that is home to 30 alligators. It also is home to some of the most desired deer and turkeys anywhere in the USA. The land is serene, peaceful, and a haven for gettaways.

Ruby McCall's Oakview Plantation, LLC is a certified Century and Heritage Farm located in Lisman, Alabama. The main house was built in 1823 and the 1,200 acre farm has been in operation since the late 1700's. There have been four owners since the main house was built (Roberts, Watkins, McCall, Johns). The outbuildings (cook house, country store, barn, overseer house that was built in 1792, caretaker house, and log cabin) have all been restored. The plantation farm grows pine trees to be used for building materials.

This is the Overseer’s cabin that dates back to the late 1700’s. When the main house was built in 1823 the overseer moved into it. Restoring this cabin has been a labor of love. The hand hewn logs are historic and magnificent.
