Buy one get one on tomatoes for a limited time! These glorious summer fruits are so abundant right now, enjoy them while they last! This year we have Marmango, a bright orange slicer; Contessa, our best red beefsteak yet; Margold, a red and yellow variety that was a favorite last year; and Blue Tonic, a purple and red variety that we love. Our cherry tomatoes are the beloved Sungolds and a red cherry variety called Attracta.

Last week we began harvesting our garlic crop—we pull it out of the field, clean it off, and hang it up to cure for a couple of weeks. We’ve got a few bunches hanging in the hut now, and we’re bringing some to the farmers market each weekend!

Some of you might know Abigail from the Canton Farmers Market, but something you might not know is that she is working on a specialty herb garden at Chanticleer this year! After taking a course on herbalism this past year, she’s planted out a plot of medicinal and culinary herbs that’s shaping up to be a wonderful addition to the farm. And she had some wonderful help with watering from her son!

We have something totally new in the hut! Instead of composting heads of lettuce that are too small to sell, we cut it, washed it, and bagged it! Swing by the farm this weekend to pick up a bag and let us know what you think!
