It’s that time again! We are collecting formalwear, jewelry, and new make up for the Rainbow Ball weekend for LGBTQIA youth in Maine which is organized by OutMaine every spring. This is a meaningful weekend event which includes amazing classes, important connections, and a big dance. If you have anything that you would like to donate, please send me a message for drop off directions. I’ve had the privilege to organize this free boutique for many years, and it’s my favorite part of the year. We especially need larger sizes of dresses and dress shoes.

All extras will be offered up locally after the event. Unfortunately, that won’t be until mid May. If you know someone in need of formal wear before then, please feel free to also message me and we will do our best to help.

It should be an interesting year.

It should be an interesting year.

Prices for nearly every major U.S. crop are below what it costs to grow them. But a drop in rice prices means another blow to farmers in Mississippi’s agricultural belt.

As many of you know, we usually offer up free clothing and promwear at the farm store on a weekend in the spring. We have been so grateful to receive dresses and other clothing from our community and from the Cinderella Project for the Rainbow Ball and happily offer up all of the extras. Since our event happens very close to and sometimes after local prom dates, we’d like to share the info about this Cinderella Project in Gardiner which is earlier. We still plan to go ahead with what we’ve been doing, but wanted to put this out there for folks who may need things sooner.

It's that time again. The post you have all been waiting for. You can either scan the QR code clink on the link below.

Well, it’s been quite a year! Like every year, it came with its own challenges. Too much rain followed by a drought kept us on our toes. Staff shortages meant that tension was often high. From the first spring planting to the Christmas Market this past weekend, our customers have shown up with good cheer and encouragement.

We’re so humbled and grateful to see that you’ve got our backs. Our staff was amazing, people were understanding, and we’re so very grateful. Sending love and light to you all!

We still have lots of wonderful finds at our holiday market! We’re open today 9-3 and Sunday 9-2. Come see us!

Update: The market was held Dec 5th, 6th, &7th. Thanks to all who came out! We are now closed for the season!

Our Christmas Market is shaping up nicely.

Our top CSA customer, Bob Menard, happens to be a highly talented blacksmith (owner of Ball and Chain Forge). He brought over some of his smaller hand forged creations including book marks, candle holders and hook extensions.

Our regular cashier Laura has been sewing up a storm making rice packs, bibs, balsam sachets, and tea towels. Her handiwork is impeccable.

Our new cashier, Ron, has owned antique shops in the past. He is offering a gorgeous scale, vintage pottery, a spinning wheel for wool, and cross country skis. He’s bringing even more surprises tomorrow.

Our cousin Tanner has done beautiful woodwork! The whimsical grinch items and modern art reindeer are my favorites. Of course, there are beautiful bags made from new holiday fabrics. The stitching is impressive.

Meadow Green Soaps and more will be setting up tomorrow so tune in to see their impressive display later.

Steadfast volunteer Sheri Fraser has raised over $700 this year selling her beautiful earrings and all of that money is going to the Wilderness Miracles Wildlife Rehab where she works tirelessly helping with everything from bottle feeding babies to washing dishes to helping release the critters who are ready.

The fabulous Wendy Nutting and Gina Holleran are also hard at work creating special treats and gifts which will make an appearance tomorrow.

Ken has been making his popular wreaths and swags from freshly cut greens. He’s also trying out some new wood burning designs.

Finally, my mama has put out dozens of her vintage and modern finds. Her items are always a hit and are quickly snapped up.

Tomorrow we will focus on baking and donuts. There’s never enough time to do all we want to do, but we think you will be happy with your finds if you visit our Christmas Market! We’re open Friday night 6-8, Saturday 9-3, and Sunday 9-2. Chocolate cream pies and donuts will be available while supplies last!!!
