I have sold the farm to a young couple who wants to keep it as a farm. I wish them well. Here’s a view from the house on my last day there.

There are a big changes going on at the farm. Bob Berson has been dead for over two years. It’s very hard to manage things without him, so Barbara has decided to sell the property and move to an apartment in town. The new owners are a young couple who want to farm. I’m hopeful that the land will be productive again under their care.

Spring and Fall
BY GERARD MANLEY HOPKINS

to a young child

Márgarét, áre you gríeving
Over Goldengrove unleaving?
Leáves like the things of man, you
With your fresh thoughts care for, can you?
Ah! ás the heart grows older
It will come to such sights colder
By and by, nor spare a sigh
Though worlds of wanwood leafmeal lie;
And yet you wíll weep and know why.
Now no matter, child, the name:
Sórrow’s spríngs áre the same.
Nor mouth had, no nor mind, expressed
What heart heard of, ghost guessed:
It ís the blight man was born for,
It is Margaret you mourn for.

This year I will be growing food just for ourselves. Perhaps next year we'll grow food for the local food pantry.
