Calling all Forgeres and hikers! Come check out the vibrant and diverse fungi at the EMBARC Youth Farm!

What to expect: Join mycologist Darling Ngoh from Hikes of Georgia and learn about the fascinating and wild world of fungi. The workshop will include an educational presentation, a walkabout, and a forest forage to identify mushrooms.

We will gather for a brief informational presentation before setting off in search of a wide range of mushrooms throughout the Farm's forest.

Program leader: Your guide will be Ranger Darling Ngoh from Hikes of Georgia.

We need your help counting our hard-working pollinators at the Youth Farm!

Protecting the Southeast's Pollinators One Count at a Time!

What to expect: The Great Southeast Pollinator Census is a citizen science project created by the University of Georgia. It is designed for everyone to participate and make a difference in pollinator conservation!

Visit the EMBARC Community Youth Farm Pollinator Garden to help count our hard-working Pollinators! You will be able to take turns counting how many types of pollinators land on different flowers for a short amount of time.

If you cannot come out, please visit this link to download the forms and count the pollinators in your yard and community. Every survey helps the science community collect real data!

Our first solarization project has started in the back field! A custom seed blend was provided by Roundstone Native Seed, and work was completed by Lawn Capital, LLC

Do you have plans for Sunday, August 9th at 11:00 am? Join us for Story Time at the Farm with Ms. Brittany

Join celebrated children's author Brittany Petish for an interactive story time and nature activity.

What to expect: Come for this special story time at the EMBARC Youth Farm as we connect literature with nature and some animals that make their home at the Farm. We will gather in the garden at the picnic tables towards the back. Ms. Brittany will introduce and read her book, then Ranger Rachel will lead an interactive nature-centered activity.

I am really proud of how far we have come at the E.M.B.A.R.C. Community Youth Farm. I could not have asked for a better group of people to call my co-workers at the Youth Farm, and the support we receive from our RPCA team! The future looks bright!

The Summer Garden at E.M.B.A.R.C. Community Youth Farm is flourishing!

We grow a variety of vegetables, flowers, and herbs that are Non-GMO, organic, and heirloom. We invite you to come out, volunteer, and be part of the E.M.B.A.R.C. movement of giving.

Rock Chapel Park II Junior Beekeeping Program

Grade 4th - 8th, Mixed

Description
Take part in the Youth Farm Junior Beekeeper program at DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Affairs. We look forward to a fun day of hands-on learning about the Youth Farm bees!

The event will be held on Sunday, July 12th, 2025, from 9 am to 12 pm.

We will begin PROMPTLY at 9:00 am, so participants should plan on arriving by 8:45 am.

Cost is $45.00 per child

Ages 9 - 14 years old

A parent or guardian is required to be present at all times.

Children must wear closed-toe shoes, dress for the weather, and drink plenty. The E.M.B.A.R.C. staff, accompanied by Ed Morgan from The Atlanta Bee Company, will supervise all activities and provide protective clothing (bee suits, gloves, and veils).
