Spring is in full swing here on the homestead! It’s been a rollercoaster, much like the weather. Lots of baby goats, including a registered buckling, new chickens, homemade food, seedlings growing for the garden and so much more! We are looking forward to farm market season and attending local swaps too!

Dune is an amazing mama, but this cold snap put some extra stress on everyone. We decided to supplement bottles with her two smallest, Lark (m) and Sparrow (f), to make sure they keep pace with their two bigger brothers.

Lark learned quick, shown here taking his bottle this morning. He’s eating grain and hay and would love a new bottle holder! Reach out for more info.

We were convinced we were NOT going to have chickens here on the homestead. You changed all that when you adopted us and wouldn’t leave. Thank you for showing us that special kind of chicken love, and sharing your eggs with us. You will be missed around here.

So what have we been up to this season?
Gathering persimmons, collecting ombré colored eggs, making our own hot honey, pampering the farm animals supporting local businesses, mending aprons and fences (literally lots of fences and gates thanks to Brutus 😅) and coffee…lots of coffee. 💕

Oh and tending the garden too! It was such a task it has its own post 😂

Oreo (2yr old intact Kiko/Boer mix) is looking for a new herd. He’s done his job well here on the homestead and needs some new ladies to please. He’s mild mannered and loves to get cheek scratches. His black coat is dappled and has moonspots, he throws some beautiful and healthy kids. Oreo is too big (and stinky) to bring to a swap so PM for details. More pics available upon request.
