Setting the Record Straight 🌾✨
Lately, misleading postcards have been circulating about Young Family Farm and our proposal to the town. We want to be 100% transparent with our neighbors and community about what we are actually asking for—and what we are not.

❌ MYTH: We are asking for a town-wide zoning change that opens the door for unlimited commercial venues.

✅ FACT: This is NOT a zoning change. We are applying for a property-specific Special Use Permit (SUP) that applies only to Young Family Farm. It creates zero precedents for other properties across town.

Here’s what our proposed 2-Year Controlled Pilot Program actually includes:
Strict Limits: A maximum of 10 evening events per year, with flexibility to work directly with the town on the final count specifically of weddings.
150 Guest Cap: Firm capacity limits to keep events small and intimate.
Early Sound Cutoff: All music stops strictly at 9:00 PM.
On-Site Parking: Designated parking on our property—no street parking or neighborhood traffic congestion.
Farm-First Focus: Every event will directly showcase farm-grown flowers, vegetables, and local agricultural products.
Complete Town Oversight: The Town Council retains full review and control after the 2-year trial.
Agritourism is vital to helping multi-generational working farms like ours stay financially sustainable so we can keep our land open and green for decades to come.

PLANNING BOARD MEETING:
LOCATION CHANGE FOR TUESDAY, SEPT 1 @ 7:00 PM 🚜

Due to expected turnout, Tuesday’s Planning Board meeting has been MOVED to the Wilbur & McMahon School Gymnasium (28 Commons).

The town boards have been shuttling this proposal back and forth. Moving to the gym gives us the space to fill every bleacher, seat, and stand to demand accountability, a fair process, and clear support for working family farms.

We need every neighbor, resident, and supporter in the room.

IMPORTANT UPDATE

We have just learned that Tuesday night’s Planning Board meeting has been canceled.

At this time, we have not been given a reason for the cancellation. We know many of you planned to attend, sign our petition, or speak in support of our agritourism proposal, and we are incredibly grateful for your willingness to stand with us.

As soon as a new meeting date is announced, we’ll let everyone know right away. Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and patience. Your voices mean so much to our family, and we look forward to seeing you when the hearing is rescheduled. ❤️🌱

Stakes are high at Young Family Farm! 🌱 We’re getting our dahlia tubers prepped and staked so they can grow big, tall, and absolutely gorgeous this season. These beauties need a little support now so they can put on the show of a lifetime this summer. 🌸 Stay tuned! The blooms are coming! 👩‍🌾💕
