Had a great time last night at a pasture walk put on by the Sustainable Farming Association! Learned about the land and animal management that a local farmer is practicing and talked with other farmers from the area as well. We always enjoy talking with people who share our goals of stewarding the land and animals in such a way that they both thrive!

This farmer's land had been used as hay ground exclusively for 40 years before he bought it (when you remove hay from the land it was grown on, then you remove nutrients from the soil). He is working to build the soil health back up through managed grazing of cattle and sheep. The livestock eat the plants and then redeposit the nutrients back to the soil through their manure.

Henry also had a great time playing in the grass and carrying around some hairy vetch, a plant that the cattle in particular loved!

We had a great time grilling our grassfed beef for the Purple Carrot Market annual ownership meeting! They are a locally owned food coop that we are part owners of. Looking forward to their locally sourced grocery store in Little Falls!

Happy Father's Day to Nate! He is the most sacrificial, loving, lion-hearted, and hard working man I (Willow) know. Henry certainly has a man to admire in his father.

Sold the soybeans we grew and harvested last fall! Thankfully they were able to load the truck on a Saturday so Nate didn't have to take off work. Scheduling is often difficult because Nate and I both work full time jobs in addition to farming (plus a baby, so that's another full time job, right?!). So this was a real blessing!

The pastures are finally snow free! If you look closely at the base of the plants there may be a little green starting to creep back (though that could be just us wishing for green grass and warmth). Nate has been taking a regenerative grazing course the last 2 months to further his knowledge/skills and is excited to apply some of the things he has learned this coming season. We are always seeking ways to increase the health of our pastures and our animals!

Hello! We have whole 🐥 and 🐷 shares available! Need to make room in the freezers for this next growing season.

🐥 were moved across fresh pasture where they feasted on insects, alfalfa/grass, and had free choice organic feed from a local mill. Whole and frozen.

🐷 were raised outside in a fenced off section of woods where they could root to their hearts content and eat acorns, roots, grasses, weeds, and had access to free choice organic feed from a local mill.
1/2 and whole shares available.

We also have pork lard and organs that are available with the shares or separately.

Please send me a message if you are interested and if you have any questions!

As always, thank you for supporting local, family farms that raise animals with integrity!

Well the time is finally here for these pigs to leave the farm!
Free range, fed an organic ration from a local mill. All Berkshire cross pigs. They have spent their days rooting around and eating and getting lots of back scratches and belly rubs!
Butcher date is November 24th (pickup date will depend on the processing you want), message me if you're interested in filling your freezer with yummy local, organic pork!

We also have some already processed if you're looking for pork now!
