Highlighting our final junior herdsire:

💫KICKAPOO VALLEY LORD VELOCITY💫

Velocity is one where very little introduction is needed. His dam has had a lifetime of success in the show ring, and his sire has managed 18 years of relevancy in the French Alpine herdbook. Born in 2008, we find it incredible that Lord Wimsey continues to produce high quality competitive animals nearly 20 years later, considering his 2026 daughter was the Reserve Junior National Champion!

When we saw this guy earlier in the year in the Good Old Boys online sale, we knew it was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up. His dam shows the same strength we strive for within our herd, but with the addition of more dairy strength and refinement, and happens to be our favorite color, sundgau! We don’t breed for color, but after the chamoisee tsunami we had this year using Sin City 😆, we’re looking forward to more variety in the kid pen this spring.

We plan to collect this guy later in the year and hope to have enough straws to offer some for sale.

I promise eventually we will have milkers to share, but with drying up early this year we’re going to have to stick to fancy kids for now 🤣

This girl was a bit of a sleeper agent. A bit chunky and super hairy and one I just didn’t really take the time to look at super hard. Nick shaved her and convinced me to get a picture and I’m so happy we did.

This girl was a good reminder that even after suffering such a hard loss, we still have girls here worth continuing for.

She is slated to be bred to our exciting junior herd sire Shady Lawn SS King, and we can’t wait to see her FF udder this spring!

‘Tis the season! 🎉🎉

Hard to believe it’s already time to release breeding plans!

Lots to be excited about with this breeding season, a few does will be bred for the final time before retirement, several yearlings to freshen, and a herdsire lineup made up completely of unproven junior bucks 😅

If you see a breeding that interests you let us know! Lots of unproven animals getting their first chance this season, but we have faith in their genetics and are excited to see the next chapter of Water Hill unfold 💛

Miami Cash was a buck I owned and have 100+ straws of, I’d let him go super cheap.

Most recent price I’ve seen for Stone Amnesty was $40/straw, would take $30/straw.

WATER HILL ACE’S VINCENT

5 generations of some of the most special animals I’ve ever owned or known combined to make this boy. It is preached in dairy goats to, “Keep the best, and wether the rest.” We’ve taken that to heart over the 10 years we’ve been involved in dairy goats, and this is the FIRST homebred buckling we have determined contained the attributes required to be retained.

He’s long, he’s strong b***d, wide throughout and deep. He’s gentle and personable, and respectful. His dam, grand dam, and great grand dam all still reside in our barn, all with appraisal scores of 90+. His littermate sister is a name you may recognize. Vydalia, our poor girl who broke her leg, was one of two 2026 doe kids to pick her dry leg up at her first show out.

All the ingredients and evidence for a supreme herdsire are there, and we can’t wait to see his first kids hit the ground in 2027!

We bring very few new goats into the herd, but when we do we try to pick good ones!

With that being said, we are thrilled to congratulate Shady Lawn RRRS Kyrie on her 2nd place win in the highly competitive 3 year old experimental class at the 2026 ADGA Nationals. Watching this doe grow and mature has only made us feel more secure in our decision to bring her son in.

To add to that, we have to congratulate Kickapoo Valley Lady Vendetta on her reserve JUNIOR NATIONAL CHAMPION win! This beautiful doeling happens to share the same sire as our buckling, Kickapoo Valley Lord Velocity, and both Velocity’s and Vendetta’s dam’s share the same sire as well. Seeing such a close relative of our buckling achieve this level of success so early in life only adds to our confidence in what this buckling will do in our herd.
