Shame on you fraudulent restaurants. Charleston used to be the restaurant capital of America. Sad.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Members of the South Carolina Shrimpers Association held a press conference yesterday where they publicly named 25 Charleston-area restaurants that they claim have defrauded consumers by allegedly misrepresenting the shrimp they serve as South Carolina-caught product.

It’s been a great ride since 2009 when we pioneered the gathering of restaurant culture through the contents of a newspaper magazine. So much has changed within our industry and our world since this mission to connect the restaurant industry started. The digital age canceled the print magazine, and the digital world has finally caught up to this- our page. Meta has notified us that our page is to be deleted and that’s okay. It’s been over 80 days since we posted anything anyway. So with this last post I would like to thank the only other admin besides myself Sunny D for her help over the years! Farm to table. It’s not a new concept but it has gained in strength to force the big grocery chains to keep organic stock. Restaurants that specialize in farm to table are on the rise also. The old supply v demand.

🤔 This detail certainly snuck past me, and likely many of you too.

I’m recalling that I did notice their changed verbiage once, but hadn’t read the label any further…keeping me still in the dark about the important difference.
