Back to school special!!

Regular browned butter chocolate chip and browned butter pistachio chocolate chip cookies. Going to do a large batch of them this week.

$22 for a dozen pistachio

Trying to type this out without crying was a joke. Today we are celebrating 4 years of business for at The House. What an incredible feat for this small business. We truly have the best community and client base that has gotten us to where we are. Thank you a million times over. From features in Plated: The Arkansas Dining Guide and At Home in Arkansas Magazine to numerous features and unwavering support from The Mighty Rib to the COUNTLESS parties and events we’ve been hired for, we have done more than we could have ever dreamed of in the last 1,460 days of being in business

Today as a family we decided to do a small giveback to those in need around Little Rock. The heat is beyond intolerable, it truly put some things into perspective for us. These give backs are something we couldn’t do without you guys.

I read a quote today that has been looming over me since I woke up and laid eyes on it-“ Don’t strive to be well-known. Strive to be worth knowing.”. As we continue to move forward and collect years under our belt, it’s not the over the top parties or the fine dining meals that we offer that we want to only be known for. It’s the giving back, acting on calls of service, and standing ten toes down on the fact that everyone deserves a good home cooked meal that we hope supersedes anything else we have done and will do. Arkansas is number 1 in food scarcity in the United States…this is awful. Truly and completely awful. As we continue to navigate this business’s journey, we will continue to do what we can in bringing that issue to the forefront and coming up with solutions to serve those in need in our area as best we can.

Thank you again for a bountiful and beautiful last 4 years. Cheers to the next 4 if the universe allows for it.

Happy Monday night y’all. Life has been an absolute whirlwind the last month. Our daughter Lola-the tiniest chef in this house- insisted that her Papa needed to come home to a fancy dinner and we should make a big fuss over him. Everyone had to dress up, we had multiple toasts throughout dinner, and each of us discussed our day.

For the menu we landed on lobster risotto with a spinach cream base along with blistered tomatoes. Lola picked the lobster out herself at the butcher’s area of Kroger this morning. Proud mama moment for me.

Lola B also concocted dessert- mini chocolate cakes with an orange chocolate glaze topped with hazelnut chocolate flake.

It’s a sweet night at The House. 🖤

About last night…

We were finally able to cook for the winning bidder of the 3 course meal we donated to Soup Sunday! Great folks, conversations, and overall experience for everyone involved.

Menu:

Pickled salad

Meatloaf accompanied by buttery mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, hot honey carrots, and corn bread muffins

Crème brûlée
