🌱 Exciting news!

DevaSprouts Farms has been selected to present at the 2026 American Community Gardening Association National Conference.

On June 6, I'll be leading Unplug & Grow at Crump Garden, a hands-on workshop that connects gardening, hydration, healthy habits, and wellness for youth.

It's crazy to look back and see how far this journey has come. From playing around in a community garden to building a backyard farm and now presenting at a national conference, I am grateful for this opportunity and the journey that brought me here.

If you sell homemade food products in Arkansas, this one’s worth a read 👀🌱

The state updated the Homemade Food Production Guide and a few things stood out to me as a backyard grower:

🥒 Pickled products like pickled okra, relish, salsa, and sauces are allowed but they must use ADH approved recipes, meet the required acidity level, and you must keep records for each batch.

🧃 Fresh squeezed juice, cold brew coffee, and beverages prepared on site are NOT allowed without a permit. A lot of people are selling these, so please read the update.

🌱 Microgreens are allowed but sprouts are not.

📦 You can sell and ship approved homemade food products online. You can also sell from your home, farm, or ranch without a permit as long as your products meet the guidelines.

🏷️ Labels must include your name and contact info, production date, ingredients in order, and the required home kitchen disclosure statement.

📝Arkansas Homemade Food Production Guidelines📑

The Homemade Food Production Guide offers clear standards and guidelines to help vendors produce and sell safe, high-quality food in Arkansas. It outlines what foods can be sold, required conditions at the point of sale, and key food safety regulations.

All products must comply with the Arkansas Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and meet safety standards✅—meaning no contaminated, mislabeled, or non-approved ingredients.

Alignment matters more than we realize.

The people around you matter. The conversations you entertain matter. The environments you place yourself in matter.

Gardening keeps teaching me that things grow better in the right conditions. Same for people.

This is me doing what I do best. Teaching. Growing. Pouring into people. Creating spaces where people feel encouraged to start where they are.

Not forcing. Not performing.Just walking in purpose.

That white dusty coating on your plants? That’s powdery mildew and it spreads FAST if you ignore it.

What is it?
It’s a fungal disease that shows up as white or gray powder on leaves, stems, and buds. It weakens your plants and stops them from growing.

It doesn’t just hit zinnias…It loves squash, cucumbers, basil, flowers, and tomatoes too. If you grow it, powdery mildew might come for it. 👀

What causes it?
✔️ High humidity
✔️ Poor air circulation
✔️ Warm days + cool nights
✔️ Overhead watering that stays on leaves

How I treated it:
💧 Neem oil spray: Spray on affected leaves (top AND bottom).
💧 Adjust your watering: water at the BASE of the plant, not overhead. Wet leaves = fungus. Water in the morning so plants dry out during the day.
💧 Baking soda spray: 1 tsp baking soda + 1 tsp dish soap + 1 quart water. A DIY option.
💧 Remove affected leaves and trash them so it doesn’t spread.

Catch it early and your plants will bounce back! 🌿

Save this for your garden toolkit! ⬇️

I have a new photographer that will be in charge of my garden updates. How did she do?

Take some time today to get outside and be grateful for what God is already growing in your life.

I bought this grape plant off the clearance rack almost 2 years ago with full intentions of “finding the perfect spot” for it. Well… I never did. It has stayed in this pot the entire time because honestly I had no clue where I wanted to plant it.

And yet… look at it. 🍇

Not only is it alive, it’s producing grapes.

Now would this vine probably do even better in the ground? Absolutely. Grapes actually prefer:
☀️ Full sun
🌱 Well draining soil
🪴 Strong support like a fence or trellis
✂️ Regular pruning for better fruit production

But this also shows how resilient some plants can be when you just start somewhere instead of waiting for “perfect.”

Anybody else got a plant they accidentally ignored that decided to grow anyway? 👀
