Southern Fried Chichen fried in Natural State Rice Bran Oil with a Honey Rosemary drizzle. Mmmmmmmmm....... The chicken was savory and sweet and light and crunchy all at once. Never greasy and the best part was b/c we used Natural State Rice Bran Oil the house did not stink like fried food after dinner and clean-up was a snap!

Natural State Rice Bran Oil Fish and Chips
Tonight we made Fish and Chips using Natural State Rice Bran Oil to coat the fish before baking it and in the deep fryer to fry fresh skin on french fries. Everything was AWESOME! The fish was light and flavorful and the fries were definitely GOLDEN BROWN DELICIOUS.
The trick to the fries was we double fried them. The first fry was for four minutes in 350-375ºF oil, a ten minute rest on the cooling rack then a second four minute fry at 325-350ºF.
Mmmmmmmm...... Mmmmmmmmm!

Healthy, Delicious, Fresh, Homemade Chicken Nuggets!

Tonight we made Chicken Nuggets and French Fries for dinner and because we used Natural State Rice Bran Oil it was healthy and nutritious. The nuggets were crisp and light and the fries were golden brown delicious. We also made an AWESOME Honey Mustard dipping sauce to go with them. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm……………!

To start you'll need 3 pounds of chicken breasts cut into bite size cubes.

Then make a brine by mixing: 4 cups of water, 2 tablespoons of salt and 4 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce. Add the chicken and let it brine for 30 minutes then pat it dry.

To make the breading mix: 2 cups of flour, 2 cups of panko breadcrumbs, 2 teaspoons of salt, 4 teaspoons onion of powder, 1.5 teaspoons of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder and 1 teaspoon of baking powder.

In a separate bowl mix (don't whip) 6 egg whites together.

Dunk the chicken chunks in the egg whites, dredge them in the breading mix and set them to the side for 10 minutes.

Next, skip the eggs, re-dredge the chicken in the breading mix and it add to a fryer filled with 350ºF Natural State Rice Bran Oil. Cook for about 3 minutes or until they are Golden Brown.

When all the nuggets are cooked slap them in a 200ºF oven to keep them warm and fry your fries.

Finish with the dipping sauce: mix 1 cup of honey with 1 cup of mustard, whisk vigorously and add salt and pepper to taste.

Serve and Enjoy!

Fried Eggs… Quick, Easy and Healthy!

Natural State Rice Bran Oil is a great and healthy alternative to butter in many recipes. Here's an easy one for fried eggs. Give it a try and let us know what you think.

Ingredients:

1 Fresh egg, at room temperature
1 tbsp Natural State Rice Bran Oil
Salt and Pepper to taste

Method:

1. Crack the egg on to a saucer to make it easier to slide into the pan.
2. Heat the Natural State Rice Bran Oil in a heavy-based frying pan over a low heat, and find a slightly domed saucepan lid.
3. Once the Natural State Rice Bran Oil has heated, swirl it around the pan to coat, then slide in the egg. If you're cooking more than one egg, be careful not to crowd the pan.
4. Cover and leave for 3½ minutes, then check the white is cooked, lift out, season gently, and serve with toast.

The World's Best Vinaigrette!

The secret to a great dressing is knowing the correct ratio of Natural State Rice Bran Oil to Vinegar.

Well here's the secret ratio… 3:1.

That's right, 3 parts Natural State Rice Bran Oil to one part vinegar, add some spices and herbs for flavor, can't miss.

Here's a recipe to get you started but experiment, have fun and let us know how your dressing turns out!

Ingredients
◦ 1 garlic cloves, crushed
◦ 1 teaspoon French mustard
◦ 1 teaspoon coarse grain mustard
◦ 1 teaspoon honey
◦ 9 tablespoons Natural State Rice Bran Oil
◦ 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
◦ 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
◦ 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
Directions
1. Combine all the ingredients in a jam jar, make sure the lid is on tightly, and shake the living daylights out of it.
2. Leave it to sit for at least half an hour before serving to allow the garlic to infuse.

Had a feast of healthy, delicious fried food tonight. Chicken, Fish and Shrimp all fried in Natural State Rice Bran Oil. Mmmmmm...... Golden Brown Delicious! For a side we made some coleslaw ala your favorite fast-food-fried-chicken chain via their top-secret recipe as found on the internet and now shared to all.

Chicken-Chain Coleslaw

Ingredients:

1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup buttermilk
2 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
8 cups finely chopped cabbage (about 1 head)
1/4 cup shredded carrot (1 medium carrot)
2 tablespoons minced onion

Instructions:

1. Be sure cabbage and carrots are chopped up into very fine pieces (about the size of rice).

2. Combine the mayonnaise, sugar, milk, buttermilk, lemon juice, vinegar, salt, and pepper in a large bowl and beat until smooth.

3. Add the cabbage, carrots, and onion, and mix well.

4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Serves 10 to 12.

INGREDIENTS

3 Tbsp Natural State Rice Bran Oil
1/3 cup of high quality popcorn kernels
1 3-quart covered saucepan
2 Tbsp or more (to taste) of butter
Salt to taste

METHOD

1. Heat the Natural State Rice Bran Oil in a 3-quart saucepan on medium high heat.

2. Put 3 or 4 popcorn kernels into the oil and cover the pan.

3. When the kernels pop, add the rest of the 1/3 cup of popcorn kernels in an even layer. Cover, remove from heat and count 30 seconds. (Count out loud; it's fun to do with kids.) This method first heats the oil to the right temperature, then waiting 30 seconds brings all of the other kernels to a near-popping temperature so that when they are put back on the heat, they all pop at about the same time.

4. Return the pan to the heat. The popcorn should begin popping soon, and all at once. Once the popping starts in earnest, gently shake the pan by moving it back and forth over the burner. Try to keep the lid slightly ajar to let the steam from the popcorn release (the popcorn will be drier and crisper). Once the popping slows to several seconds between pops, remove the pan from the heat, remove the lid, and dump the popcorn immediately into a wide bowl.

5. If you are adding butter, you can easily melt it by placing the butter in the now empty, but hot pan.

6. Salt to taste.
