Mother’s Day has me reflecting on the women who show up with steady love and quiet strength, the ones who carry others through both ordinary days and hard seasons.

I’m especially thinking about my mom. She’s the kind of woman who taught me what it means to love without limits, to work hard without needing credit, and to give even when it costs something. So much of how I show up in the world is because of her.

And I know I’m not alone. So here’s to all the moms, and all the people who mother in ways that matter. Whether you’re raising your own, helping raise someone else’s, or simply holding space with love: thank you. You’re seen and celebrated today.

Late summer abundance is a beautiful sight. These little tomatoes will be turned into sun dried tomatoes packed in olive oil to enjoy this winter. Not everything needs to be turned into a sauce.

Peach season is our favorite! This peach jam is absolutely delicious and one of our favorite ways to enjoy summer fruits throughout the year. We’ve spent several days canning peaches. 130 quarts of sliced peaches canned to enjoy this winter. It’s a bite of summer when the snow is on the ground and makes winter a bit more pleasant.

This coastline…Maine is breathtaking. A day away spent with our homeschool group soaking up the ocean sounds and saltwater. You have to be hardy to swim in the north Atlantic ocean and the kids are loving every minute despite the cold ocean temps.

We had a great weekend participating in our local agricultural fair. It was a first for us to enter the exhibit hall but we made out well and had a ton of fun! Each kid had to submit two entries for school…after all their first place wins, they’re already looking forward to next year’s fair. Thanks Houlton Agricultural Fair for a great time!

We didn’t plant our larger garden this season, so instead we sowed organic barley that will grow up and soon we will till it back into the soil to provide nutrients after taking so much from it the past few years. It’s looking very nice this July morning.
