My family immigrated to America in the late 1850’s from a small island off the most southern part of the boot of Italy, a town called Torro Faro. I was adopted and brought up in a German family, I had the best tan all year! I found my blood family when I was 18. I was welcomed with love and it is where I learned to cook. I loved my Nonna’s gravy, well, actually I loved all of her food. No matter what we were doing or where we were, we dropped everything to run to Sunday dinners. I know times have changed but I have tried to keep that tradition alive in my family. When we moved here from the East coast we have not had much luck with finding great Italian food in a restaurant. Sorry Olive Garden is not Italian! L

My daughter gave me the idea to share our families Italian food with everyone.

My Nonna told me the secret ingredient that makes our food so special is the love from all the generations in our family going into it. And the rumor our recipes are not written down is true! The tradition of cooking brings the family together, fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, wives, husbands and grandchildren. We all cook together as we talk and laugh and even sometimes cry. But that is what family is about!

(Fresh organic vegan based gravy can be special ordered)

I hope you will try some for dinner tonight.
