🌿 Down on the Branch… Beef & Pork Update! 🐄🐖

First and foremost, THANK YOU to everyone who has called and messaged us about purchasing beef! ❤️ We appreciate y’all more than you know!

Unfortunately, we recently lost a freezer full of meat which has put us a little behind on our beef and pork supply. It’s been a tough setback for our small family farm, but we’re hanging in there!

The good news? We’re scheduled for another butcher date in October! 🎉 We’ll be sure to post an update as soon as our beef is available.

In the meantime, we have more pasture-raised pork available than beef, so if you’re looking for pork, send us a message and we’ll let you know what we have in stock!

Here's a great opportunity to learn about forest stewardship, land ownership and Agroforestry. You will also get to see me and ask questions on Oct 21 at the 2pm session. There's lots that you can do with forestry. You can even raise livestock if managed appropriately.

THANKS TO ALL WHO SHOWED UP YESTERDAY! I hope we didn't keep you too long!!!

For those that wanted to come but couldn't. Here's a few topics we covered.

1. Normalize not expecting cheap when dealing with small businesses especially farmers and ranchers.
2. Understand food labels. There are differences that you may not understand. All cattle are grassfed but that does not explain how they are raised to finish/butcher. Grass finished means they should have natural forages non grain based food their entire life. Feedlot finished or grain finished is different. Understand what you are buying.
3. Small farmers and ranchers can not compete with the big box stores. Don't expect that if you show up to their operation.
4.Get to know your local farmer/rancher to understand what they do and the input they provide to grow products for your purchases. Ask questions and you will get answers that the big box stores CAN'T answer because they DO NOT know!!
5. Pasture/woodland raised pork is NOT the same as the pork you buy from the big box stores. Big box stores, yes your local grocery stores, often sell pork raised and pushed for quick gains and size. Medicated, vaccinated, growth hormones.....you name it.
6. Fat is quick and cheap to add to an animal with corn and grain so lots of meat is pushed for quick gains. This is where the meat packers step in and profit while the local farmers/ranchers miss.
