Ad Astra Baking Co is the creation of me, Kelsie Brown! Born and raised in Kansas, I moved to Colorado just around a year and a half ago. I’ve always loved baking—when I was a kid I made my own cooking show videos. I have experience working in two different bakeries—one was a local shop in Lawrence, KS. I got to bake and decorate all the cupcakes daily as well as prepare any special order cakes. A

t this job I began really learning how to decorate and perfect delicious cupcakes. The other shop is a national chain. I learned about strategizing and planning large events, and I continued to hone my decorating skills. After making cakes and cupcakes for friends and co-workers and being told several times that I should, I’m finally taking the dive and starting my own little business! I make everything from scratch. I take recipes and add my own touches to make them unique to me. My specialty is definitely cupcakes, but I also make delicious cakes, pies, cake pops, cinnamon rolls, and am willing to try just about any recipe to make you happy. When I’m not baking, you can find me playing ultimate frisbee (go Sweet Action!!), hanging out with my husband, reading a book, knitting, grabbing coffee with friends, and hanging out with our dogs.
