We have some good young roosters looking for new homes. 3 Freedom Ranger/Australorp crosses (black/red) human-friendly, ok with being handled and calm/gentle by nature. 1 is older (with the hearts on his chest) and is going to be big. The other 2 will probably be medium to large sized.

3 Barred Rock/Fayoumi crosses, they are feral by nature but not aggressive. They will remain small/bantam sized.

Hooray our power is about to blip out for the 10th time today because we have SVEC and they are terrible. Every time it rains or there is a little rumble in the sky. I wonder if it will cost me another capacitor on the air conditioner. Such great service we get for $780 a month now.

Did you know that there are only 2 plants left in the USA that still produce feed-grade lysine powder? This essential amino acid is supplemented in every animal feed-- beef, dairy, poultry, swine, dogs, cats, even fish. If it grows meat, it needs lysine. US Domestic production of lysine is not keeping up with our consumption, and China supplies about 35% of what we use right now. 99% of lysine imports to the USA come from China. If anything happens to US lysine production, ALL of American meat production will be beholden to China.
This is an easily solvable problem, it just takes some American willpower and more attention to the fragility of our food sovereignty.

3 weeks ago we so little miss was out when everyone else was still sleeping. So we knew there had to be a nest somewhere. We found it. Not knowing how long it had been there we let her do her thing. Fast forward to yesterday: we now how more baby chicks. Zoom in to see the little heads peeping out 🤣🐥🐥
