While at the beach the other day I got to thinking…
Farming is a lot like surfing. 🌊🐄
You set yourself up. You prepare. You make the best decisions you can with the information you have in that moment. You do everything you can to be ready for whatever comes next.
And then… you ride the wave.
Sometimes you’re flying high and everything feels smooth. Other times, the wave drops out from underneath you and you’re just trying to hang on.
But eventually, the wave passes. You paddle back out, reset, prepare again, and wait for the next one.
That’s farming.
You can’t control the weather, the markets, the animals, or all the unexpected things that come your way. You can only prepare as well as you can, make the best decisions you can in the moment, and then ride the wave.
Up. Down. Repeat. 🌊
And somehow, we keep paddling back out. ❤️🐄🌱
