For those who use the "Stars" program, tell me your tips and tricks to earn more 🌟!

All proceeds earned will be used towards the rabbits for things such as food, treats and housing upgrades!

Also since I am home for the next several weeks, what are some videos that you want to see about the rabbits?

I had a little helper this afternoon to help me weigh and brush out a few juniors. I am loving these two that were held back.

Athena lived with Jennifer Johnson for a few months but, she insisted that I needed help mending my broken heart after I lost my broken chocolate kit from Pixie's litter. I had her originally listed as a broken sable however, Jenn showed her in Georgia and all three judges insisted that she is in fact a broken chocolate. Her parents are Marilyn Bunroe and Cadbury.

Skipper is a very handsome black tort out of the Ember and Minnow litter. Skipper will carry on in his father's footsteps even though he is a perfect copy of his beautiful mom.

And that beautiful young enthusiast that is helping me today is my granddaughter! She has always loved the bunnies and recently started working on standard rex with her mom.

I think one of the biggest misconceptions in rabbit breeding is that the answer is always *more.*

More cages.

More rabbits.

More litters.

More breeds.

More everything.

But after more than 16 years of raising French Lops, I've actually found the opposite to be true.

A smaller rabbitry forces you to make better decisions.

Every breeding has to have a purpose.

Every rabbit has to earn its place.

When you only have room for a certain number of breeding animals, you naturally become more selective.

Instead of asking, *"Could I keep this rabbit?"*

You start asking, *"Should I keep this rabbit?"*

That one question changes everything.

A smaller herd also lets me notice the little things.

I can see changes in appetite.

I notice if one of the rabbits is acting differently.

I can spend time handling young rabbits so they grow into rabbits that are easier to evaluate, easier to show, and easier for families to enjoy.

None of this means a large rabbitry can't be successful.

But bigger isn't automatically better.

For me, I'd rather have a rabbitry where every rabbit has a purpose than one where I simply own more rabbits than I can truly manage well.

Im sure you all know that one family member or friend that absolutely cannot sit still. If not, then allow me to introduce you to one. Hi, its me!!

So I need some healing help. I would love to see updated photos from babies of the Weiners and Buns past. Pop in and tell me how your not-so-little bundle of fluff and ears is doing! Drop a photo in the comments, who knows you may see some of your bunnies siblings!

Taking a moment to give some love to the area outside of my rabbitry. These Mexican Sunflowers are dual if not triple purpose!

At about 7feet tall they provide a natural sunblock on the south side of my rabbitry.
2. They are 100% edible for the rabbits and provide an excellent and natural source of fiber and protein.
The bonus #3...beautiful butterflies.

And thats a wrap....for now. The last two available buns have left today. But fall is hopefully right around the corner and we look forward to the cool weather that brings the babies! In the meantime, we will continue to update the page as some of our juniors grow out and watch how they do in the upcoming months.
