It’s garlic season!!

This year has been a combination of fun and challenging. I finally had the space to grow a lot of vegetables that we never could before and so I tested a lot of seeds.

I selected 2 varieties of sweet corn, 3 varieties of beans, and 9 varieties of winter squash to trial in hopes of finding ones that work in our 6200’ mountain garden.

This year has been colder, wetter and seen more hail than we’ve ever had…the perfect year to test the limits of the garden!

With just 4 weeks left in our season the corn and beans are doing just fine. Surprisingly, even with 5 hail events, it looks like we may still get spaghetti, acorn and lower salmon River winter squash too!

Spent the last few days turning our garlic and flowers from Dutch Ridge Ranch into works of art.

I had missed having the time to be creative in that way and am so thankful to now have that space back in my life

Looking forward to seeing so many of you at the garlic braiding workshop this afternoon. Holy cow did that class fill up quickly! You never know maybe will be in able to do another one sometime
