Every time Chomp Chomp goes to The Korean Place in downtown Livermore, we get overwhelmed. So many tasty things, Chomp Chomp needs to make more friends so we can order everything!

Chomp Chomp likes the Bo Ssam. But we understand not all white people are ready for that. You know what you are ready for, though? Their Bbq short rib and beef bulgogi - both out of this world delicious and palatable to even the most conservative of tastes. Who doesn’t like beef and bbq sauce?! And who doesnt love thmselves some corn cheese?!

For those dipping a toe in the deep end, the Japchae, Seafood pancake, and gimbap all play.

The Korean Place in downtown. Strong recommend!

2 things that are uniquely Livermore. We dont know why! But we love It:

-Garlic sauce on white tuna/albacore/shiro maguro at sushi restaurants. Shiro maguro is Chomp Chomp’s favorite sushi fish. We eat it all over the Bay on a regular basis. Only in Livermore does it regularly appear with a garlic sauce.

-Chicken asado being readily available at Mexican taquerias. Shredded chicken is at just about every taqueria, but cubed/grilled chicken? Not so much. This is good news for Chomp Chomp since we’re not the biggest fans of shredded chicken. Grilled chicken, though? All day.

Yes, of course there are exceptions to this, but it’s wild that this city has seemingly communally settled on these two items. Was there, like, a meeting or something?

The Bourbon Pear has the best ranch dressing. No bracket necessary. You all must sample this nectar of the gods. We imagine their ranch dressing tastes like what dreams are made out of. Or angel tears. The Bourbon Pear's ranch dressing tastes like angel tears. We still think the rest of the menu is just ok (come on Mr. Rodney, we know you have it in you to wow us!). But for now we'll dip just about anything they cook there in that glorious, glorious ranch dressing.

Chomp Chomp doesn't know much about gelato. But Chomp Chomp knows a thing or two about vibes. And we are here to tell you that Verace has the vibes! We're not gelato experts, but we enjoyed everything we tried. Most importantly, though, we enjoyed the atmosphere of this little slice of Italy in our own backyard! How many other cities get to claim their own italian gelato spot in their downtown? How lucky are we?! Weather's warming up; go give Verace a try!
