Fallow Field Farm

Fallow Field Farm We are a diverse farm seeking to produce high quality food in a responsible manner in regards to the environment, resource usage, and animal welfare.

We are a small diverse farm in Livermore, Maine started by an engineer and a veterinarian. We seek to produce high quality local food that is humanely and responsibly raised. We are currently growing a variety of vegetables in an organic and hand-cultivated manner. Brett is working actively to develop our fruit patch and orchard; planting raspberries, grapes, plums and renovating old apple trees.

Meghan is raising all-natural grass-fed lamb with a pasture-based diet utilizing rotational grazing practices to minimize internal parasite issues, and to uniformly manage and fertilize our fields. Together we raised 130 heirloom tomatoes on a trellis system outdoors along with a variety of greens, squashes, potatoes, cucumbers, carrots, beets, eggplant, string beans, peas, and other vegetables. We also keep free-range laying hens to sell eggs and raise chicks. Several years ago we raised turkeys on pasture with a "turkey tractor" and we plan on raising meat chickens this summer with several smaller "chicken tractors" to rotate with the sheep in another pasture and parasite management scheme. We currently sell freezer lambs to individuals and butcher shops. We plan on offering CSA's for vegetables and other products, as well as Pick-your-own grapes in the future.
