Love this!
IHPA is looking for individuals who would like to help with fund raising type activities. For us to create new programs, new events, or enhance current ones; we have to brainstorm ideas that will support those events, and then implement them. IHPA currently doesn't have anyone focused on this area of need and are reaching out to you for people willing to help us.
Feel free to message us directly, or email us at [email protected] if you are interested.
Don't be afraid to give us a shout!
The time that would be expected of you is whatever you are willing to offer. We are just a big group of people who believe in helping other beekeepers through education, advice, and our personal time. It's not like we are some big corporation with supervisors and performance reviews. Nor are we some elected official that has 10 layers of interns and officers stopping you from getting through to talk to us. We are just your average citizen who took up beekeeping and then decided to get more involved with helping other beekeepers. If you have some sort of experience in a past job with fundraising or donations, fantastic! If you just have a willingness to help out and not a clue about the other, "WELCOME ABOARD we'd love to have ya!"

So I missed that September was the month to celebrate this historic cocktail...”Bees Knees”.....but I feel that one can enjoy one of these at any time!
The story of this cocktail is pretty cool. Back in the prohibition days when gin was REALLY terrible, they created this cocktail to make it....palatable 😉

Gin, lemon juice and honey create a buzz-worthy cocktail.
The Sweetwater in Livermore is all stocked up! Look for the new 3lb jug!

This is cool...
Every once in a while I get a call that makes me cringe. Sometimes the bees are way up high, and sometimes it's bricks. I prefer to be minimally invasive when removing honey bees from buildings. I don't like taking out bricks. Will the mortar chip out, or will the bricks crumble? Will the combs be usable once the bricks are out of the way? As much as I dreaded removing the bricks, the final view of the hive was AWESOME! The homeowner was more than pleased that we were able to remove and relocate the bees and their hive.
Celebrating the greatest of all pollinators—bees
When animals and insects pick up the pollen of flowers and spread it, they allow plants, including many food crops, to reproduce. Birds, rodents, monkeys and even people pollinate, but the most common pollinators are insects, and among them, bees.
