Happiest Birthday to our Beautiful daughter Iris Fen! 26 years ago today she was born in our little off-grid drafty cabin in the woods (notice the duct tape on the windows in the picture of me holding her 😂). It was 8:00am and -8 degrees outside. She quickly became a shepherd and now shares her love of food, farming and nature with everyone she meets. She grew up leaving berries and cream for the fairies of the land and still finds play and beauty wherever she goes! So much Gratitude for 2025! Beautiful harvests, gathering with friends, full moons, finishing the sod roof on the community barn, Wes moving on from Catskill Mountainkeeper after 20 years, Iris growing Gael Roots Community Farm , Roan starting grad school and working as a paralegal, me goofin’ around the farm! And of course all the 4 legged friends that entertain us daily!!!! So much Gratitude!
