While "maple season" may only be a few weeks, preparation is a year long process.

Good preparation results in a good season! 🍁
That is why months before the maple season even begins, sugarmakers are in preparation mode. Their tasks include cutting and splitting firewood for the sugarhouse, and stringing and repairing the tubing in the sugarbush. Last step, careful examination and testing of equipment.

The work never ends, but oh how sweet it is!
