Due to life changes, we have several older pups available. From 5 to 18 months and a couple of high drive 2 year olds.

Catahoula Leopard Dog is a multi-purpose working dog that is powerful, with a sense of agility and endurance. They are serious while working and playful at home.

Catahoula are used as stock dogs, bay dogs, tree dogs, watchdogs, guard dogs, and of course as loyal companions.

Catahoulas need space to expend their huge amount of energy and always needs a job to do. A catahoula is not suited for city life or as an apartment/house dog

Wyatt has been found and is home!

Hey! My Jamestown peeps.

Missing around N York Hwy, Jameston TN

Wyatt. Male red leopard catahoula, smaller frame, wearing an orange camo collar (not pictured). Name and phone number on the collar. Gold eyes.

Wyatt will be timid to strangers, he is new to the area so he will be apprehensive.

The breed requires firm guidance and early socialization, as they can be independent, territorial, and protective. For these reasons, they do not allow mistreatment and will assert themselves in self-defense. Once they know their place in the pack, they are affectionate, loyal, and gentle. Catahoula are used as stock dogs, bay dogs, tree dogs, watchdogs, guard dogs, and of course as loyal companions.

Catahoulas need space to expend their huge amount of energy and always needs a job to do. A catahoula is not suited for city life or as an apartment/house dog. Without the proper amount of exercise and attention, he will become destructive by digging holes, chewing shoes, cords, couch/chair and walls if not given the proper exercise both physically and mentally. Options for exercise could include play time in the backyard, preferably fenced, or taken for walks several times a day. Outdoor activities like swimming, hiking, and retrieving balls or flying discs can also provide a good outlet for expending energy. Training for dog sports like agility, obedience and rally can also be a great way to give your dog exercise.

Without training and mental stimulation, this breed can become destructive in the home. Due to a catahoulas independence and territorial instincts, socialization is also very important for the Catahoula to be a gentle and affectionate companion in the home.

If you do not have the time & energy it takes to TRAIN a strong willed, highly intelligent, manipulative, stubborn, assertive, yet clumsy energetic active dog, then the Catahoula is not the dog for you.

Owning a dog is not just a privilege; it’s a responsibility. They depend on us for, at minimum, food and shelter, and deserve much more. When you take a dog into your life, you need to understand the commitment that dog ownership entails.
