Welp.... Dawn, Luna, and I had a quick weekend trip to the Washington Coast last weekend. It was a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle before summer hits. Luna and I drove to Seattle, picked Dawn up at the airport, and headed south.
It was Luna's first time visiting the ocean, so as you can imagine, she enjoyed chasing the sea birds and trying to eat all the razor clam scraps. She's got a helluva nose, so she was actually sniffing out crabs and clams in the low tide!!!
I got to enjoy some Ninkasi beer, one of my favorite IPAs when I lived in San Francisco 19 years ago, and discoved some new faves. Most notably Icicle Brewing's Dragontail IPA, Black Raven's Trickster IPA, and Steam Donkey's Punchy Brewster IPA.
We tent camped just north of Ocean Shores, within walking distance to the water. It was raining most of the time, but we fully expected that, so it was just a nice getaway.
Food and bevs included visits to Ocean Shores Roasters, Hot Mama's Kitchen (IT WAS KARAOKE NIGHT!!!), Bennett's Fish Shack, Galway Bay Irish Pub plus a stop at Eddie's Kitchen and Tavern in Spokane Valley on the drive home.
