🌱If you’ve planted elderberries this year, here’s a tip that feels a little counterintuitive: remove the blooms during the first growing season.

Why? As tempting as it is to let them fruit, first-year plants do better when they put their energy into building strong roots and healthy canes instead of berries. Pinching off those blooms now helps create a stronger, more productive plant in the years ahead. 💚

Garlic scape season! 🌱 We’ve harvested today and will have fresh garlic scapes available at the farmers market this weekend! 🧄

If you’ve never tried them, garlic scapes are the curly shoots from hardneck garlic — mild, delicious, and perfect for pesto, grilling, stir-fries, eggs, and roasted veggies. Bonus: harvesting them helps grow bigger garlic bulbs!
