2020 Garbanzo report:

Beans are some of the best I have seen in a while. Still a ways to go on maturity and set but we have had a really favorable season so far out here in sunny Ca.

Should see harvest around usual timeframes (4th July).

California Blackeye Peas Harvest time!!!

Rhys got to go with me today to watch the harvest action!

Were going to market this field as "pumpkin spice" blackeyes as there were a few volunteer pumpkins from last year in the field. Any takers?

Blackeye Pea harvest is near!!!! These peas will be cut and wind-rowed shortly for harvest mid september. The beautiful warm California September weather is ideal for drying down and harvesting these peas with daytime temps in the low 90's and cool evenings in the 60's.

These will hit shelves in October/November where they will see peak demand in December as a staple in southern cuisine as well as a New Years Symbol of good luck!

New crop garbanzos have hit the warehouse and we're cleaning as fast as we can. Garbanzo 2018 season has officially started and we've shipped 2 loads out already!

LARGE lima beans running through the color sorter. These are being optically sorted by a sortex machine which uses thousands of pictures and air bursts to kick out stained or discolored beans. This is the kickout bin...

Lodi folks. I dont usually plug products so you know this is good stuff.....Safeway on kettleman ln. is now carrying Sarahs Harvest green hummus. This is a pretty awesome product made my our partner and friend Califresh in Sanger, Ca. They use fresh garbanzos harvested at green stage and make fantastic hummus with it. Its much more labor intensive and its worth it. Fresh, healthy and light....These garbanzos are grown by the same growers that produce our dried chickpeas and often in the same fields.
