I think this is profound. As we struggle to build our own farm this is what has inspired me all these years. Food production on a human scale is the way of Creation.

Our consumptive desires are doing harm to the very network on which we rely. Recognizing this should remind us to adopt a posture of humility, not triumphalism. When we pray the Lord’s Prayer, we ask God to forgive us our trespasses. How have we trespassed against those who produce our daily bread? And how have we trespassed against the Earth itself?

SPRING HAS SPRUNG! Ok, well, so what happened? This small farmstead has moved forward and backwards in leaps and fits only to be put on a shelf, taken down like the precious jewel it is and then put back up on the shelf with tears in our eyes.

But I’m tired of that. So we are moving forward in spite of this becoming a “one man show” with a wife in nursing school (and smashing it) and health issues for me and our daughter that are driving us nuts.

I’ve decided to go down swinging (not that I’m going down, not anytime soon hopefully 🙏🏻) and I was trying desperately to put together a long string of being disease free but that looks like that may not be possible … but I’m feeling the best I have since this whole recurrence and after my massive surgery. So no matter the treatment I may start, I’m going to keep it rolling forward as much as humanly possible (and more like spiritually possible).

I don’t think I’ll be horseshoeing anymore as a main source of income but I do hope to ride and rope again someday and pass that on to Ralphie.

My son, in his remaining “cute” years (although we are pushing it) has suggested doing a small-scale farming show … so that’s what we will be doing.

I am currently selling eggs and looking to level all that up shortly with an association acknowledgement. Message me for details if you are interested in eggs you can’t find in stores.

So please stay tuned and this time I’m REALLY hoping to be able to come through on this dream of ours. - Sincerely, The Clark Family.

We are in major clean up and clear out mode at the moment and have ALOT of things to get rid of.
