🍺🇩🇪 OKTOBERFEST AT RIPON TAPHOUSE! 🥨

209 Foodie Alert made a stop in Ripon to check out Ripon Taphouse and their special Oktoberfest celebration — happening TONIGHT & TOMORROW ONLY!

We tried their warm house-made sourdough pretzel with hot b**r cheese 🥨, an Oktoberfest bratwurst served on a sourdough pretzel bun, and the chicken schnitzel sandwich with German potato salad.

And you know we couldn’t celebrate Oktoberfest without a German b**r served in DAS BOOT! 🍺👢

Ripon Taphouse has a great atmosphere, rotating taps that keep the b**r selection changing, and they’re especially proud of that house-made sourdough. They also make a sangria with fruit that soaks for days before getting finished with a little sparkle. 🍷🍊

If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, Oktoberfest gives you a great excuse to check this place out!

Have you tried Beard Papa’s in Tracy yet? 🇯🇵💜

We stopped in to try the Japanese cream-puff chain that started in Japan and has since expanded internationally — and this was a FUN one.

They fill the cream puffs with custard, and we tried everything from Ube, Oreo, Churro and Chocolate to a Crème Brûlée version that gets torched right in front of you. 🔥

The custard was incredible. And as you can probably tell from the video… we may need a lesson on the proper way to eat one. 😂

We also tried their Ube and Matcha drinks, checked out the colorful interior, and even found claw machines in the back.

Bistro 135 — Downtown Tracy

We weren’t quite expecting this one.

Bistro 135 brings together Italian comfort food and Puerto Rican flavor inside one of the sleekest restaurant spaces we’ve visited in Tracy.

We started with beef empanadas, carpaccio and crispy plantains loaded with avocado salsa and Puerto Rican pork. Then came the seafood mofongo, 48-hour rum glazed salmon and our personal favorite of the night — fresh chicken Parmesan with house-made pasta, marinara and béchamel.

We even got a look inside the open kitchen where they’re putting it all together.

Great cocktails, a beautiful bar, outdoor patio and a kitchen with some serious personality.

🚨 209 FOODIE ALERT: LA SIERRA — STOCKTON 🔥

The best food doesn’t always come with hype. Sometimes, you’ve gotta go looking for it.

Tucked along Alpine near UOP, this family-run carnicería is putting pecan smoke to work with tri-tip, ribs, chicken and some incredible bacon-wrapped stuffed peppers. Add handmade tamales, homemade guacamole and chicharrón with that perfect combination of meat, fat and CRACKLE… and we found ourselves another Stockton gem.

Family-owned. Humble. Amable. Y estaba rico. 🇲🇽

Greek food that makes pork belly feel like a healthy decision. 😂🇬🇷

We stopped by Nick the Greek’s new Marina Marketplace location in Stockton for gyros, Mediterranean bowls, tahini crunch salad, halloumi fries and a whole lot of meat spinning over fire.

Fresh, crispy, salty, fatty… somehow it all works.

Algo Bueno means “something good”… and they might be underselling themselves. 👀🔥

10 soups. Handmade tortillas. Loaded micheladas. And quite possibly the best aguachile I’ve had. Add the octopus. Trust me. 🌶️🐙

What’s your go-to order at Michael’s Pizza? 🍕

If you grew up in Stockton, chances are you’ve celebrated something here. Little League wins, Friday night football, birthdays, graduations, or just grabbing a pizza with family after a long week.

I recently got a behind-the-scenes look at what keeps this place going. They’re handcrafting pizzas all day long, serving around 100 pizzas on a busy day, and even more when the community really shows up.

We tried the classic pepperoni, a loaded appetizer platter perfect for sharing, and wings that my wing-loving buddy called the best around. Michael’s also has a full bar with rotating monthly food and drink specials, so there’s always something new to try.

Before leaving, I asked what Michael’s Pizza represents.
