🚨 209 FOODIE ALERT: LA SIERRA — STOCKTON 🔥

The best food doesn’t always come with hype. Sometimes, you’ve gotta go looking for it.

Tucked along Alpine near UOP, this family-run carnicería is putting pecan smoke to work with tri-tip, ribs, chicken and some incredible bacon-wrapped stuffed peppers. Add handmade tamales, homemade guacamole and chicharrón with that perfect combination of meat, fat and CRACKLE… and we found ourselves another Stockton gem.

Family-owned. Humble. Amable. Y estaba rico. 🇲🇽

Greek food that makes pork belly feel like a healthy decision. 😂🇬🇷

We stopped by Nick the Greek’s new Marina Marketplace location in Stockton for gyros, Mediterranean bowls, tahini crunch salad, halloumi fries and a whole lot of meat spinning over fire.

Fresh, crispy, salty, fatty… somehow it all works.

Algo Bueno means “something good”… and they might be underselling themselves. 👀🔥

10 soups. Handmade tortillas. Loaded micheladas. And quite possibly the best aguachile I’ve had. Add the octopus. Trust me. 🌶️🐙

What’s your go-to order at Michael’s Pizza? 🍕

If you grew up in Stockton, chances are you’ve celebrated something here. Little League wins, Friday night football, birthdays, graduations, or just grabbing a pizza with family after a long week.

I recently got a behind-the-scenes look at what keeps this place going. They’re handcrafting pizzas all day long, serving around 100 pizzas on a busy day, and even more when the community really shows up.

We tried the classic pepperoni, a loaded appetizer platter perfect for sharing, and wings that my wing-loving buddy called the best around. Michael’s also has a full bar with rotating monthly food and drink specials, so there’s always something new to try.

Before leaving, I asked what Michael’s Pizza represents.

There’s a new restaurant in Lodi that’s already turning heads! We were invited behind the scenes at Taqueria La Nueva Vallarta to watch the preparation of some of their signature dishes, including the sizzling Molcajete, the Piña Loka, Piña Nietos tacos, and the show-stopping Perla de Mar seafood tower.

It’s always fun discovering the people, places, and food that make the 209 special, and this is another spot worth adding to your list.
