I have a special cousin who is big farmer in Illinois and loves her big red tractors. She asked me for something with a tractor on it. It took me a few months to get this big bushel gourd bowl created for her. The drawing and painting of the tractor were the most time consuming. I put corn and resin in the bottom for weight. I love making creative gourd art for special people when I know what they love.

Working on some chickens. It is time to paint his proud and ornery face. I am on my last tubes of quikwood. Yikes! I have not figured out a replacement and I love using it
on my gourds.

***We have closed the exhibit for this weekend! It will resume Feb 12 ***

The artists will be attending on Saturday Feb 14 from 2-4pm for a reception and refreshments. Gourd art of mine purchased during the reception will include sales tax in the price!

The show goes through February 28. Think spring and stop by when you can!

Happy New Year to my gourd friends! I have been very blessed over the last year. Some of my goals that I met:
1. I joined our local artists association and made a lot of new art friends. We have a retail shop where we can work on our projects, hold art classes, and display/sell our art. This was a big deal for me. I am kind of shy 🙂 but put myself out there.

2. I figured out I love making gourd nativities! My design evolved over the holiday season. The blue and red ones were a custom request and are now a favorite over the walnut. I love the rock base over the wood rounds and the dimpling added around the opening adds a beautiful finished look.

I am so grateful for my family who supported me and over looked all the things I didnt get done and my customers who always inspire me to create new things and waited patiently for me to finish. Your kindness and appreciation mean more than you know.

As I continue my gourd art journey into the new year, my hope is to create pieces that bring warmth, joy, and a little bit of nature’s magic into the homes and lives they touch.
