Cooler temperatures are the perfect excuse to put some chili on the stove! It’s also National Chili Month, so why not celebrate with a bowl of this hearty, flavorful stew?

Fun fact: The chili we know now didn’t originally have beans! Early Texas-style chili focused on meat, chili peppers and spices. Beans only became a common addition as the dish spread and adapted across different regions in the early 20th century.

Each summer 4-H and FFA youth exhibit animals at their local fairs and Nicholas Meat extends support to them through their county fair auctions. Being responsible for an animal and showing them at the fair teaches these youth accountability and pride in workmanship, which are lifelong lessons. This year, Nicholas Meat purchased animals at auctions, including the Clinton, Lycoming and Troy fairs.
