Budjon Farms has been an integral part of the Wisconsin Dairy landscape for years. John & Mary (since deceased) made the move to Lomira from Pewaukee, WI in the winter of 1998. Their son Tom, married Kelli (Tuman) in 2000, the same year he came home to the farm, and in 2003, Kelli came home to the farm full time as well. Tom is the CEO of Budjon Farms & Budjon Boarding, while Kelli assists with th

e Daily Operations, Human Resources, Youngstock Management, and Social Media marketing. John works closely with Tom & Kelli in a semi-retired manner, and assists mainly with the crops, manure management & oversees the field work of the 500 acres of land surrounding the farmstead. While the farm has always been home to a small tie stall Holstein & Jersey milking herd (65 total), it’s the Budjon Boarding business that has truly flourished over the course of two decades. In July of 2014, the Culls completed an overall farm face lift, with the addition of a new office building, maternity pens, milkhouse & hospitality/employee areas. Then in the summer of 2015, we completed a much needed update to our calf area, adding another 60 individual hutches & 25 more super hutches for a total of 145 individual hutches and 51 super hutches. We pride ourselves on maintaining a clean, well kept, and up to date facility where individuals can thrive. These newly updated facilities allow us to provide exceptional care and standards we are known for throughout the United States and around the world. Our boarding clients range from Local Wisconsin & Midwest dairy producers to international clients from such amazing countries as Australia, Denmark & Germany. OUR MISSION STATEMENTS ~

Today we celebrate 🎉 4 years of Marcos Rosas! He makes the best Tacos 🌮 for our cows! lol He also brings the fun and the laughter 😆 to the farm every day.

He helps translate for our team and is a big part of our success at the farm and helping with the show cows!

His favorite cows are Willow and Lady!

Celebrating Excellent cows! Futurity winners have gone on to score well for their owners. Budjon-JK Linjet Eileen EX-96 GMD DOM is the highest-scored cow to have won the Futurity. She won in 2002. There have also been 8 cows that have garnered Gold Medal Dam status and 4 Dams of Merit.

The 40th Anniversary of the Wisconsin Holstein Futurity will be held August 15 at the Wisconsin State Fair.

Just when we thought the extreme hot 🥵 and humid was behind us…today reminds us again…we can have a roller coaster of weather in Wisconsin all types within a week! 😌

Thought I would share a Kelli’s Kalf Kare tip: HOW TO MANAGE EXTREME HEAT 🥵

How many of you use BLUE LITE C as an electrolyte? I do and I’ll share with you how I use it…summer edition.

I use it a couple different ways:

1️⃣ I use it every day after I feed milk.
It is in their buckets 🪣 all day.

In the summer we fill water 💦 buckets 🪣 4x a day. 7am -10am- 2pm and then last water feeding in the evening at 6pm. That last feeding after milk 🥛 is just water.

2️⃣ The other way I use Bluelite C is I am now using it in our old show heifer waterers in our super hutches.

Hang it on the bar by their feeders. But you can use whatever works for you…5 gallon pail, 🪣 or any type of bucket you might have. Secure it to a bar or a gate…they will tip it or knock it over.

I am using it for transition hydration post weaning and in these times of extreme heat. They drink it! And I feel it has helped tremendously especially calves that may struggle with some loose manure or sickness.
So they have the option of their regular water or the Blue lite c.
