We had a great visit with Markus starting at his warehouse Victor, Ca. (Population 310-once in awhile). We followed Markus to several of his vineyards learning a lot about Vineyard management. Lodi is a spectacular place to grow about anything. Plenty of water because it sits directly along the Mokelumne River Watershed and over a rich high quality underground aquifer! The temperature can range from 90’s in the day and drop to 45 at night - grapes love it!!!

Agave planted along the 5 and acres planted in Lodi! A water sipper as opposed to grapes and definitely less than almonds! Takes almost 10 years to mature, then only the pina, the center core is removed to crush and cook to make tequila. So they seem to be growing this succulent and hoping someone will know how to ferment it! Winemakers have been asked and it’s not in their wheel house!
