When I think about terroir, it’s more than just about the soil, climate, and geography of a vineyard. I think of it as a whole living ecosystem that includes the land, the water, the soil, the plants, the animals, the farmers and vineyard workers, and the generations that came before us. Everything is connected, and it’s about working in harmony with the land, while giving back rather than just taking from it.

It means a lot to see Indigenous voices and perspectives being included in the larger conversation about w**e and what it truly means to be connected to a sense of place.
