If I did a paid "class" at Ambrosia Apiaries in London Ohio for kids ages like 5-12 where you bring me your gremlins, I suit them up, take them into the apiary, teach them about honeybees/beekeeping and shove them full of fresh honey; is that something you'd be interested in? I'll have to work out some details like packed lunch vs lunch provided, length of the class...etc. I'm trying to gauge interest. Insta: . Timeframe: within the next month for the first class. And depending on popularity, frequently starting next spring as well. I can provide info packets for homeschool kids as well. Let me know what you think! 🐝♥️❔

It was so hot out today and I did so much housekeeping with my supplies and in the apiary. Mom and I drank quite a few of these bad boys full of lemonade. Only 4/7 hives in the photo, and 3 of these are splits. 🍋🏵️🐝

Hung up all the bee suits. 🐝

Adopted an apiary from a wonderful older man whose medical situation has rendered him incapable of beekeeping. It started us off with 4 hives so far this year, and after all the splits we're now at 7. I've officially named the current lineup of Queens. Sekhmet, Orion, Flanary, Hermione, Peliades, Brigid, and Athena. The Flanary name is in honor of the original beekeeper's legacy. Mid-summer when I have done more splits and acquired swarms, there will be a second round of naming.

Lilacs and dandelions are in bloom! Have the new wax-dipped cedar hive setup and ready to go. (No bees yet; going to dump a swarm.) This one is located at a different location than the main apiary at our family farm.

Mentoring my mother-in-law for her first hive instillation (ever) of the year was a success. Observe my pipe cleaner bee antennas. I'm also trying out latex gloves on my bad hand this year to see how I feel about it.

Mentoring my mother-in-law this year. She successfully installed her first package of Caucasians into her beautifully painted 5-frame Langstroth setup. Everything went really well and she's very excited to begin her journey as a Beekeeper. 🐝♥️
