On a sad note, cows are dried off so no milk for a bit 😭😭😭

But on the happy side….I took some baked goods to the booth today. Sourdough s’mores and snickerdoodle cookies and a sandwich loaf. And also a few boxes of cake flights. They are:

🐄 MILK UPDATE 🥛

I am in the process of drying the cows up as I prepare for upcoming procedures and surgery.

Because of this, milk availability will be limited starting this week. At this time, I’m not sure when we will have regular availability again. It will depend on recovery time and a couple other things.

Thank you so much for your patience, understanding, and continued support of our farm! ❤️

I will keep everyone updated as soon as we know more.

South Poll Cattle Available

Here are some of the South Polls we’re currently letting go. THESE ARE NOT CULLS!! They are simply some of the black cattle we have left that we’ve decided to move on. All are purebred South Poll and are eligible for registration, we just haven’t taken the time to get all of the paperwork completed.

We currently have 3-4 available, with more becoming available soon. If you’re coming from a long distance, let us know and we may be able to put together a larger group to make the trip more worthwhile. The 2 cows pictures should be both about 2-4 months bred.

Our next 2 girls that are available. They are both calm and gentle and come running for milking. Both have been hand and machine milked. Sunny is not a high producer and Clover is on the higher side. Although I wouldn’t consider her a high producer.

Sunny - A2/A2 mini Jersey (4/14/21), currently in milk with a heifer calf. Calved on 3/20/26

Clover - (3/2015) A2 results not back yet. Bred to calve late December -January.

It’s started 😭😭😭With the ongoing injuries from my wreck back in April, I’m having to make the hard decision to sell most of our dairy herd 😭😭😭 Violet went to her new home today. She’ll be well loved, but dang it I miss her already!! This sucks!!!

We will be selling most of the beef herd and this will also be the last year I raise chickens 😣 Sorry guys! Hideaway Farms will never be the same 😔

The Lord blessed us with absolutely perfect weather for butchering chickens today 🙌🏼 And we had some precious friends and their daughters that came to help, which made it go so much quicker!! ❤️
