Update on the bunnies, I will no longer have any available. No longer breeding. I have kept my older two retired, spoilt rotten babies, they no longer breed, just living their best life here with me in the house. The way I work and my crazy schedule I just didn't have the time for them that I would have liked. Bunnies to me is more than a quick feeding and a clean-up. They need time spent with each and interaction. I have enjoyed all of the fur babies I have had thru the years and will miss them all dearly. But for now, down to my older 2 pets is all I will have. I do have chickens and newly added Geese.
For now, at times, I may have chicks or some grow out pairs, trios, etc. American Bresse and Silkies are the only 2 breeds I kept. No geese will be available at least until next spring, as they are babies still.
I will always have an abundance of eggs, eating or hatching, fresh. I won't do any hatching unless I do for my grow outs. I can offer hatching eggs or if prepaid on how many chicks you want, I can hatch them for you. This hatch out of 60 eggs 55 hatched. So, I can be sure to get the amount you preorder to hatch. Day old Breese would be 8 and day old silkies 10.
Bresse hatching eggs 10 and silkies are 30. Silkies all went broody on me so none of those currently. But overrun with the Bresse eggs.

Newest babies around here. Meet my baby geese's and a whole lot of Bresse grow outs.

Homesteading and farming is not for the faint of heart. You have to be ready to give shots, tube, syringe or bottle/hand feed, hard cull if need be. You have to know the needs of each livestock you have, correct amounts of Protein, vitamins and minerals for each and what to feed to meet those needs. What parasites or other things that can happen and how to prevent/treat. The back breaking hard work of keeping the areas clean for them, this cuts down issues with heath also.
You need to know what meds etc treats each one and for which condition and keep those on hand. Once a problem shows up you don't have time to online order what you can't get local.
Some of these can be costly but, if you order a little at a time to keep on hand it is much easier to do.
I currently have a whole meds cabinet for chickens and bunnies. Slowly I got there and add on as I need to or run low. I may not know it all, but I do keep what I do know on hand.
I have pulled many bunnies and chickens thru some major issues that would have cost them their lives if not on hand and acting quickly. When you see them daily you know when something is off kilter for them and most times you know by site what the problem is and how to get on top of it fast!
I was an overprotective mom to my kids so that being said yeah that goes for my fur and feather babies too.
I watch too much poops in my life 🤣 🐰 🐓🐩 But this and how they are eating, drinking, sitting, walking or lack of etc are the first signs of distress and indicates what is going on and what you need to fix it ASAP.
This is not something I knew right off the bat, but live and learn over time. I still do not know it all and never will. Just when you think you have all bases covered in the supplies, one of them will throw you a curve ball and a new lesson to learn and what to have on hand in the future for it, how to treat or prevent.
It's like the kids... Hey MA watch this!!! Yeah ok here we go again!
Well like I said I am not a know it all and not a Vet but what I do know from experience, well I know... So if I can ever help you try to figure something out going on with one of your babies send me a PM. I will try to help if I can. It is easier for me to see it in my own babies since I do see them daily and know how they act. But I will do my best to help.

Scratch that egg hatching count! I had to pull 18 not fertile out. 16 of which were Silkies bought from another person. I have 8 of those left out of 24 if they make it to hatch time. Some are larger than my Silkies eggs, so we wait and see if they hatch what they actually are, who knows at this point! Travelled 2 1/2 hours one way to get eggs and chicks, UGH chicks were sick and lost some, eggs not pure silkies like I was told nor fertile. Let's say I will not be getting anything else from there!!! As of now I have 87 eggs cooking in the incubators. The other 2 I pulled were the American Bresse. I do have good news though... All of my own Silkies eggs are fertile and growing. YAY!!! Also, many many Bresse eggs are fertile and growing. YAY!!! Maybe way too many. 🤣 oops

105... That's how many eggs are currently cooking in the incubators. Goodness, that is the most I have done all at the same time. Time to build a bigger brooder!
