May in Vermont. 84 yesterday, frost advisory for tonight🫠

The greenhouses are pumping out the blooms while outside is slowlyyyyy catching up. Trying not to get emotionally attached to warm weather until at least June.

Spring on the new farm has been full in every sense. Cold mornings, cold days, and even some snow 🫠 There’s a lot happening all at once, but I couldn’t be more grateful. Having my own land still feels a little unreal. After years of looking, it finally worked out, and I’ve been having so much fun planning where everything will go.

Moving all the plants from one farm to another has definitely been a transition, but it’s been worth every long day. I’ve been waiting years to plant mock orange and lots of elderberry, and both went in the ground this week.

The flowers are still showing up despite the cold. Cool flowers are in the ground and handling the frost just fine, tulips are being harvested daily, and the anemone and ranunculus are starting to bloom.

For Mother’s Day, we’ll have bouquets at West River Coffee Barn on Saturday, May 9th. There are still a few CSA spots open if you want to gift flowers all season long, or you can sign up for the Sparkle Barn flower arranging class on May 15. Link in bio 🌷
