One of the hardest things I have ever done is saying goodbye to my Husband, Friend, Partner, Antagonist, and Pain in the Butt, Roger Krone. But today I gathered with his and my family and friends to do just that. There were a few hic-ups, things were never on schedule, and it was hot. In other words, it was perfect. People came together to remember him, to tell funny stories and preciouses' memories. Even when we had a flock of geese come running through the middle of everything was good.

Roger would have loved to see so many people that he knew and loved sharing a meal and have a fellowship. That's what he loved, people coming together and having a good time.

As I sit here and think about it, I know I did him proud, and I honored him and our relationship. I still miss him so much, I still cry, I still get mad. I have bad days, but I am starting to have good days again. I don't know what my new normal will end up looking like, but until then, I will keep going. I will keep healing, and I will get to where I am at peace in my soul the way I know he is.

I love you Boo-Bear, I miss you terribly, but I will see you one day, and until then, I will try and keep everyone together, to love them all, and keep your memories alive, even if only in my memories.

Only one more day to go before the memorial service for Roger. Emotions are running rampant and wild. Please bear with me. I'm doing my best to get through this with dignity and grace; all the while trying to hold onto what little sanity and strength I have left.

From the family of Roger---
Roger Dale Krone, Jr. was born on August 07, 1966 to Roger D. Krone and Darlene Fay Robinson in Denton, Texas. He left this world on June 28, 2024 in Dallas, Texas after a brief and unexpected illness. Roger spent most of his life in the Denton area, and for the last 14 years he has resided in Lone Oak, Texas.

Roger met his husband Bradley Mathis in 2006, and from the first day they met, they knew they had met the one person meant for them. In 2015 Roger and Brad were married at their ranch, Casper Hill's Ranch, in Lone Oak. They worked together turning the Ranch into a home filled with Love, Laughter and Prayers. Roger worked for a number of years in retail for a Ranch and Home store. Roger was a hardworking, dedicated and Faithful man. One of his favorite scriptures is from Matthew Ch. 11:28-30,

“Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek, and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Roger was preceded in death by his Father, Roger Dale Krone, Sr. and both sets of Grandparents. His husband Bradley Mathis is left to cherish his memory and to carry on in building the life the two of them often dreamed of. He also leaves behind his mother, Darlene Krone, mother and father-in-law Patricia and Jack Barrow, sister Sherry Arrington, brother-in-law Ron Arrington, nephew Daniel Patrick Hall and his children Nevaeh, Jacobi and Boston, niece Mikayla Garrison, husband Jordon and their daughters Jane and Isla, as well as a host of extended family and friends all over the country who will remember Roger fondly.

Roger will be remembered at a Memorial service on August 10, 2024 at 1:00 at their ranch located at 6237 County Road 3226, Lone Oak, Texas 75453. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in his name to the B.P.O.E. Texas Elks Children’s Services, 1963 F.M. 1586, Gonzales, Texas 78629.

Fun Facts about us

Casper Hill’s Ranch was founded by Roger Krone and Brad Mathis in 2014. We are located on 10 acres of land just outside of Lone Oak, Texas. Originally we only worked with B0ar goat’s for meat production. During that time we have tried a few things, trying to find what works with our lives and what works for are property. As our time here has past we have found that raising Gen-Master Goats and Livestock Gardening Dog’s is a perfect niche for us.

We have just had our first successful breeding, whelping and winging of Nine healthy pups. Mom was 100% Great Pyrenees and Dad was 100% Turkish Akbash (see https://www.dogbreedinfo.com/a/akbashdog.htm for more information). Already one female and two of the males have f0und their forever heards and gone on to new lives. Which mean we have SEVEN puppy’s left, with our second litter due around the Second week of February.

If you are interested in our puppies, please contact us either here on FaceBook or you can email us at [email protected] and we will be happy to discuss your needs. Keep and eye on our page, you never know what’s coming next.
