Ohhh that come down from treatment. It’s like I put on my big girl (big mama??) panties and just plow through, the food prep, the packing, the travel, the wiping down of all the things, the process of feeding my kid foods that were told for years we could never have or it would kill her (cough cough), anyway…the come down.

I’m exhausted. I look like hell. But good golly am I grateful.

Her belly is full of (delicious) food that I didn’t have to cook! Thanks for giving her the opportunity to eat at a restaurant (and play with blocks after 😂)! ❤️

Today was a big day. We challenged a food that had a previous reaction. To be honest, I haven’t processed it yet. I’ve always believed in the TIP process but something about checking that box…it’s a lot.

She’s going to be okay.

A reality of food allergy-momming (and being a TIP mom): getting away is hard. So the hubs and I are enjoying an anniversary lunch instead of of vacay or night out and about. It’s not ideal and from time to time I get sad/jealous but it’s reality. We gotta get out, drink the dranks, eat the unsafe food and try not to talk about food allergies.

When you get that text from the teacher as a TIP mom….

“Well, guess who gets to skip treatment tonight???” Aka: guess who is getting a shower RIGHT after dinner and going to bed whenever as early as I want to?? 😏

Thankfully, she is finished with the cycle and we are just wanting for next week to head out for challenges so the timing worked well.

I know, it’s frustrating you can’t bring specific foods into class. Trust me, us allergy moms miss the convenience of those foods as well!

Families like mine do not have the luxury of exaggerating about our kid’s food allergies. Exposure can mean brain damage or death. It’s pretty black and white.

As a mom, if I saw your kid in any type of danger, my mom instincts would take over and do whatever I could to keep your kid safe. Please do the same for my kiddo.
